Bat speed training is essential for baseball players because it helps them generate more power and hit the ball harder. Two training techniques that can be used to improve bat speed are overload and underload training.

What to expect:

  • Average gains in exit velocity of 5-10+ mph (age dependent)
  • Increased bat speed
  • Improved dynamic strength
  • Quicker hands
  • Better hand-eye coordination

What's Included with the set?

  • One 20% Overload Bat
  • One 20% Underload Bat
  • 8 Week Bat Speed Program

What to know about the product:

  • 1-1/2" diameter barrel
  • Made of composite material
  • 100 swing break in period (tee work)
  • Not intended for game use
  • Not intended for use below 40 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Patent Pending
  • 1-Year Warranty

What can you hit with these training bats?

Overload training involves using a bat that is heavier than the player's normal bat weight, which creates more resistance and forces the player to swing harder. Some benefits of overload training include:

  • Increased Dynamic Strength: Overload training helps build upper body and core strength.
  • Improved Timing: The added resistance from the heavier bat helps improve a player's timing and coordination.
  • Increased Bat Speed: By swinging a heavier bat, the muscles used in the swing become more powerful
  • Increased Hand-Eye Coordination: The smaller barrel (1-1/2" diameter) of a skinny barrel training bat requires batters to have better hand-eye coordination and a more precise swing.

Underload training, on the other hand, involves using a lighter bat than the player's normal bat weight. The lighter bat allows the player to swing faster, which helps improve bat speed. Some benefits of underload training include:

  • Increased Bat Speed: By swinging a lighter bat, the muscles used in the swing become faster and more efficient.
  • Improved Bat Control: Using a lighter bat requires more control, which can help players develop better bat control and technique.
  • Increased Hand-Eye Coordination: The smaller barrel (1-1/2" diameter) of a skinny barrel training bat requires batters to have better hand-eye coordination and a more precise swing.

Both overload and underload training can be effective for improving bat speed and power for baseball players. However, it's important to incorporate both types of training in a balanced way to avoid overtraining or injury.

Use the Bat Speed Training Bats to hit real baseballs up to 50 mph. We recommend using the Underload and Overload bats with our Bat Speed Training Program with soft toss or tee work drills. Improve your hand-eye coordination by utilizing our No Load Training Bat that is designed to feel and weigh the same as your game weight bat, but with a small barrel.
